It connects the airport terminals with the new rail station on the heavily travelled Düsseldorf-Duisburg railway line in a six -minute cycle. Dec 2017. Düsseldorf Airport is large and the free sky train is a fabulous way to navigate around. It is an awesome piece of engineering. Top Tip: This is not too clear for first time traveller - To get to the city centre. From arrivals follow the signs to the sky train. Take the lift to level 3.
